Expanse Studios, the B2B iGaming content division of Meridian Holdings, has received regulatory certification to operate in Colombia, marking the studio's entry into Latin America's regulated online gambling market.

UKAS-accredited testing laboratory Gaming Associates certified three Expanse titles: Gates of Olympia, Candy's Bonanza and Leprechaun's Wish, as compliant with the technical standards established by Colombian authorities. The certification authorizes the games for deployment on licensed platforms operating under Coljuegos, the country's gambling regulator.

Colombia remains one of the region's most established regulated online gambling markets. The sector generated $1.29bn in revenue in 2024 and is projected to grow to $2.03bn by 2029. Online casino games and sports betting account for most market activity, while industry research indicates that 82% of Colombians participate in games of chance.

Expanse Studios CEO Damjan Stamenkovic said: "Colombia is one of the most mature regulated markets in Latin America. Certification here establishes the regulatory foundation we need to scale across the region.

"The market has shown that regulated frameworks can work in Latam. High player participation demonstrates that there is a strong demand when operators can offer services legally. That's the model we're building toward in other territories."

The Colombian approval follows certifications in Estonia, Latvia and Portugal, expanding the studio's footprint across regulated markets in Europe and Latin America. Expanse Studios currently partners with more than 1,300 B2B operators globally and offers a portfolio of more than 70 proprietary titles.

The company previously secured certification for its crash game Super Heli in Brazil and has also obtained iGaming licenses in Croatia and Romania, where its parent company, Golden Matrix Group, operated under that name before rebranding as Meridian Holdings in March 2026.
