Albrechtsen joined Gentoo Media on March 1, 2025, moving from a partner role at Deloitte Denmark
Board says the departure does not affect its strategy or operations

Gentoo Media announced that CFO Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen has resigned from his position, less than 15 months after taking the role and just one week after presenting the company's Q1 2026 results to investors.

The Malta-headquartered iGaming affiliate, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, said both parties are in a "close and constructive dialogue" to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. The board has begun the search for a new CFO. No successor has been named and no effective date for the departure was disclosed.

Albrechtsen joined Gentoo Media in March 2025 from Deloitte Denmark, where he had been a partner and state-authorised public accountant. He stepped into the role during a period of structural change for the company, which had split from Gaming Innovation Group in late 2024 and was midway through a strategic realignment to reduce complexity and improve margins.

His responsibilities spanned financial strategy, risk management, legal and compliance, investor relations and IT infrastructure.

Jonas Warrer, CEO of Gentoo Media, said: "We would like to thank Mads for his dedication and collaboration during a period of significant change for Gentoo Media. Mads has played an important role in the transformation initiated in 2025, including strengthening financial processes, supporting the Company's strategic realignment and helping build a leaner and more focused organisation.

“As Gentoo Media now enters its next phase, we are maintaining a constructive dialogue regarding the upcoming transition and share a common commitment to ensuring a stable and responsible handover for the benefit of the Company, its employees and other stakeholders."

Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen, CFO of Gentoo Media, said: "I am grateful for the time I have spent at Gentoo Media and look forward to contributing to a smooth transition during the coming period."

The announcement comes as Gentoo Media continues its recovery trajectory. Q1 2026 revenue came in at €24m, down 5% year-on-year, but EBITDA before special items grew 19% to €10.5m, with margins expanding to 44% from 35% in the same period last year.

The company attributed the revenue dip to softer sports margins in February and a deliberate shift toward higher-value traffic. Full-year 2026 guidance of €105m to €115m in revenue was left intact alongside the CFO announcement.
