Hotel Casino Magic in Neuquén has obtained the Gold-level eco-label from the Hoteles Más Verdes program, the country's leading sustainability certification in the tourism sector, following a multi-year process that involved all operational areas of the property.
The certification is aligned with international responsible tourism standards promoted by the Asociación de Hoteles de Turismo de la República Argentina and evaluates resource efficiency, social inclusion policies and community engagement.
Maximiliano Rodríguez, General Manager, said: "This is a tremendous source of pride and the result of a collaborative effort across multiple areas of the company."
Among the measures that contributed to the recognition was the replacement of single-use plastic bags with reusable fabric containers for linen transport, reducing both environmental impact and operating costs. In addition, housekeeping operations were digitized through tablet-based systems that allow real-time tracking of room status and cleaning tasks, cutting paper use significantly.
The property also integrated renewable energy sources and introduced continuous monitoring of water, electricity, gas and waste generation. A partnership with a Neuquén-based recycling firm converts recovered dry materials into benches, flowerpots and urban furnishings, advancing a circular economy model.
The hotel additionally prioritizes regional suppliers to reduce logistics-related emissions and runs ongoing staff training programs on corporate social responsibility.
The guest experience was also folded into the strategy. Through Magic TV, a digital platform embedded in room televisions, visitors can access hotel services, tourist information and environmental content, reducing reliance on printed materials.
Rodríguez added: "We are constantly striving to remain at the forefront of both technology and customer service. Sustainability is an integral part of that vision, and this certification reinforces our commitment to the highest standards and best practices in the industry."
