IGT and WCLC reach new agreement to deploy 720 additional VLTs in Saskatchewan

International Game Technology (IGT) subsidiary IGT Canada Solutions has signed a new agreement with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) to provide an additional 720 Sierra27 video lottery terminals (VLTs) to Saskatchewan retailers during 2026. 

"As the leading VLT supplier in Canada, IGT is uniquely positioned to help WCLC enhance venue performance and player experiences with proven products and solutions backed by decades of market experience," IGT VP of Sales for Canada & Oregon Chad Helm said. 

"This significant agreement with WCLC for 720 additional IGT Sierra27 VLTs reinforces the strength of our outstanding collaboration in providing games that excite and engage players."

The new agreement marks the second consecutive year in which the WCLC has selected IGT for video lottery deployment, featuring a library of content designed specifically for players in Canada.

Each of the Sierra27 VLT machines offer two 27-inch screens, a 13.3-inch player panel with dual push buttons and a wireless charging output. 

WCLC VP of VLT Gaming & Operations Eric Karmark also spoke on the new deployment, having said, "WCLC selected IGT through a competitive procurement process, and these additional Sierra27 VLTs will support our venue network with hardware and content designed for the Canadian market. 

"IGT has been a longstanding supplier to WCLC, and we look forward to continuing our work together."

Despite the expansion of its VLT operations, IGT VP of Global Communications & Investor Relations Phil O’Shaughnessy confirmed to Global Gaming Insider that the supplier will be shutting down its electronic table games (ETG) division in 2027 on 15 July. 

While the supplier’s ETG business had grown to offer blackjack, baccarat and roulette capabilities, the need for large amounts of casino floor space to host the games appeared as the main concern for IGT in its decision.
