More than 5.6 million bets were placed through Codere's retail betting network in Spain during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making it the operator's highest-performing tournament to date.
According to the company, customers wagered more than €26m ($30.3m) across the competition's 104 matches, generating more than €6m in revenue.
The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina produced the largest single-event betting volume ever recorded by Codere's Spanish retail operation.
The company said the match generated more than 128,000 bets, surpassing previous records for a sporting event across its network of betting shops and gaming venues.
Codere attributed the performance to Spain's run to the World Cup title, together with trading margins that benefited from results during the tournament. The operator did not disclose how those margins compared with previous World Cups or provide details of the trading decisions behind them.
Operationally, the company said its retail network handled peak betting demand without service interruptions or delays during the tournament. It credited the performance to a real-time monitoring team of more than 50 specialists, supported by proprietary technology and sportsbook features including bet builder, player proposition markets and live streaming.
In a LinkedIn post accompanying the announcement, Codere said the results reflected continued investment in its retail business, highlighting its technology infrastructure, operational teams and nationwide network of betting venues as key factors behind the record performance.
Last month, the country's gambling regulator renewed Codere Online's technical certification for its roulette and blackjack systems through 2036, confirming the operator's continued authorization to offer both games.
Codere Online is among the operators featured in Global Gaming Insider's documentary How to Win the World Cup: The Evolution of Sports Betting.
Earlier this year, the company appointed Mexico captain Edson Álvarez as its brand ambassador, as part of a broader soccer-focused marketing strategy at the 2026 FIFA World Cup
