More than 11 years before its operating permit was due to expire, Enjoy is seeking to end its concession for the casino in Los Ángeles, in Chile’s Biobío region.
The operator has asked the Superintendency of Casinos de Juego (SCJ) to approve its early resignation from the permit, which runs until July 30, 2038.
Subsidiary Casino Gran Los Ángeles SA filed the request after an extraordinary shareholders' meeting held the same day. In a filing to Chile's Comisión para el Mercado Financiero, Enjoy said it submitted the request "in accordance with the three-year advance notice resignation mechanism." The SCJ's Resolutive Council must now qualify and rule on it.
If approved, the resignation would take effect three years after the authorizing resolution is published in the Official Gazette. Until then, Casino Gran Los Ángeles SA said it will continue operating the casino and meeting its legal and regulatory obligations, including payment of its committed economic bid.
The move adds to resignations Enjoy already secured for its casinos in Coquimbo, Pucón and Viña del Mar, filed in February 2025 under a separate decree that lets operators return permits without triggering the guarantee bonds tied to their licenses. The Viña del Mar resignation was approved in August 2025, ending that contract in 2028, about five years ahead of schedule.
Enjoy, once Chile's largest casino operator, has gone through two judicial reorganization processes. The second, in August 2024, forced the company to divest most of its assets, including hotel-casinos in Rinconada, Antofagasta, Chiloé, Viña del Mar, Coquimbo, Pucón and Puerto Varas, which passed to a new company, Casinos de Chile, along with its Punta del Este property.
Enjoy, Dreams and Marina del Sol also face a collusion investigation from Chile's National Economic Prosecutor's Office over casino operating permit tenders held in 2020 and 2021, in which prosecutors are seeking a $152m fine and the early termination of the firms' concessions.
Talca has recently asked the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ) to block the issuance of the certificate needed for a competing casino to begin operations
