IPLyC plans to launch a unified online platform in 2027, consolidating its separate casino, sports betting and quiniela offerings

Misiones' provincial lottery and casino regulator in Argentina, the Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos (IPLyC), will contribute an estimated ARS 66.54bn ($44.1m) to the province's 2027 budget, a 7% increase from this year.

IPLyC is also preparing to consolidate its online gambling offerings into a single platform as its physical casino network contracts.

Héctor Rojas Decut, President of IPLyC, said: “There is one clarification that needs to be made: IPLYC does not receive a single peso from the amount being considered in this bill. On the contrary, it is a contributing entity.”

Rojas Decut linked the moderate growth projection to falling consumption and a generational shift in gambling habits. He added: "We have a double factor to be considered: on the one hand, there is the decline in activity and, on the other, the change in habits.”

As part of its digital transformation, IPLyC is preparing to merge its separate casino and sports betting platform with its quiniela-specific platform into a single service called IPLyC Play starting in 2027. The new platform will add games not currently available online, including Kin6, Poceada and Telekino.

The push toward digital channels comes as the institute's physical casino network has contracted. Rojas Decut said eight casino venues closed over the past 18 months, eliminating 298 jobs.

IPLyC has also expanded responsible gambling measures, signing agreements with the Provincial Secretariat for Addiction Prevention and civil society organizations to broaden self-exclusion mechanisms and support services for people with gambling problems.

Rojas Decut has also addressed the future of the Hotel Maitei, a 99-room IPLyC-owned property whose concession with a private operator ended July 31 after falling tourism activity made the arrangement unviable.

The institute negotiated the operator's exit and the departure of 23 hotel employees. The seven-hectare property remains closed and under IPLyC custody while the institute seeks a new operator, with officials citing possible additions such as soccer or padel courts.

Good to know

Misiones' gambling network has also lost 10 agencies in recent years, although IPLyC still operates 175 outlets supporting around 1,700 families
