Holland Casino is in dispute with Dutch trade union De Unie over implementing its social plan as the casino operator continues its reorganisation.
The union claims Holland Casino has introduced the term “potentially suitable position” for the second phase of the restructuring, even though it does not appear in the agreed social plan.
De Unie says the new process, which includes assessments and job interviews, gives Holland Casino greater freedom to select employees while reducing protections. The union also says it did not use this approach during the first phase.
Emergency talks between the parties have so far failed to resolve the dispute. De Unie is considering legal action if employees are disadvantaged and is offering affected members individual legal support.
The union has called on Holland Casino to honour the existing agreement, stating that “a deal is a deal.”
KSA orders SkyGrow Group to stop unlicensed gambling operations
In separate news, the KSA has ordered SkyGrow Group Limitada to stop offering unlicensed gambling through Boomerang.bet and imposed a penalty of up to €914,000 ($1.1m).
The regulator investigated the operator's website in February, March and July of this year. It concluded that Dutch citizens could create an account, deposit money and play online games.
The KSA continually attempts to shut down illegal gambling sites and fine them. Nevertheless, recent data obtained by a Woo request shows that in 2021, only 2.5% of these fines were actually paid.
This is mainly due to jurisdictional issues, as many of these operators are based in small countries outside Europe, where it is very hard to enforce penalties.
Holland Casino reported stable gross income of €391.2m for H1 2026, up marginally from €390.9m recorded in the first half of 2025
