Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported the state’s total casino revenue for May 2026, as the state’s commercial casino operators managed to generate nearly $170m, equating to a decrease of 3.7%. 

Casino gaming contributions to the state fell 1.3% to $75.1m, including just over $54.1m to the Maryland Education Trust Fund. Up to this point in fiscal year 2026, beginning last July, Maryland casino revenue has decreased 1.6% to $1.8bn.

How have the state's commercial properties performed since 2021?

Ocean Downs Casino managed to report the highest revenue increase of any Maryland property for May 2026, generating growth of 7.3% to $9.4m. Horseshoe Casino and Rocky Gap Casino reported May 2026 revenues of $15.6m and $5m, respectively, representing increases of 2.3% and 1.8%.

Live! Casino & Hotel was second with $62.2m of revenue for the monthly period, having fallen 2.7%, while Hollywood Casino reported a decrease of 3.8% to nearly $8m.

As well as the Education Trust Fund, casino gaming revenues support the communities and jurisdictions in which the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

On May 11, Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported the state’s sports wagering activity for April 2026, as online and retail bettors generated a total handle of $574.2m, representing an increase of 11.8%.

Total revenue generated by operators currently licensed in Maryland was just over $45.9m for April 2026, equating to growth of 8.3%, with mobile revenue increasing 7.2% to $45m.
