Butler National has appointed CFO Adam Sefchick as Interim CEO after Christopher Reedy retired from the role due to health considerations.
Reedy’s retirement took effect on 15 June, though he will remain on Butler National’s Board of Directors for the remainder of his current term. He will also support the Board and management team in an advisory capacity, subject to his health.
Executive Chairman Jeff Yowell will oversee the transition while the Board begins a search for a permanent CEO.
Butler National operates across aerospace products and professional services, with its gaming exposure held through Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Dodge City, Kansas.
The property includes around 500 slot machines, 15 table games and a DraftKings-branded sportsbook.
The group’s gaming segment has become more closely tied to online wagering since Kansas launched legal sports betting in 2022.
Boot Hill Casino has acted as a market access partner for DraftKings and Bally’s, giving Butler National exposure to both retail casino operations and mobile sportsbook revenue.
That mix remains relevant to the succession plan. In Q3 FY2026, Butler National reported total revenue of $26.9m, up 27% year-on-year, while net income rose 98% to $6.7m.
Professional Services revenue was broadly flat at $9.9m, with mobile sports wagering revenue rising to $2.2m from $1.8m. Traditional casino gaming revenue fell 5% to $6.5m, which Butler National linked to economic pressures in western Kansas.
Sefchick joined Butler National as CFO in May 2025 and brought experience in financial reporting, SEC filings, debt issuance and business systems. His appointment as CFO was subject to a background investigation by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
Yowell said: “Adam has been a key member of Butler National's leadership team and has worked closely with Chris, our Board and our operating leaders.”
The Board said it will start a search process immediately to identify Butler National’s next CEO.
The succession plan follows another interim CEO appointment in the sector, after Hacksaw Gaming relieved Christoffer Källberg of CEO duties and named Ana Vrabic Verdir as Interim CEO in April.
