The Botswana Gambling Authority has announced the appointment of Tshepang Magang as its new CFO, with immediate effect.
Magang brings more than 15 years of experience in finance, auditing, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. The Authority said the appointment reflects confidence in her leadership experience, institutional knowledge and ability to support the regulator's long-term financial sustainability.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the European Business University of Luxembourg and is both a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow Certified Professional Accountant (FCPA).
Since joining the Gambling Authority, Magang has held several senior positions, including Internal Audit Manager, Financial Planning Manager and Acting CFO.
During her time with the regulator, she has been involved in strengthening financial governance, improving internal controls, supporting revenue management and contributing to the organisation's broader strategic transformation.
Before joining the Authority, she worked at KPMG, where she gained experience across audit and advisory projects covering financial reporting, risk management, governance and internal control systems.
In her new role, Magang will become a member of the Authority's Executive Leadership Team, taking responsibility for financial planning, budgeting, treasury management, procurement oversight, investment planning, revenue optimisation and regulatory compliance.
The Authority said she will also help drive initiatives aimed at enhancing financial transparency, supporting digital financial management systems, strengthening organisational resilience and aligning financial strategy with the regulator's wider objectives.
According to the Board, the appointment is intended to further strengthen the Gambling Authority's ability to regulate Botswana's expanding gambling sector while maintaining sound financial governance.
The appointment adds to a run of leadership moves across the sector more generally, including Lotto.com naming former FanDuel executive Ruxandra Tereanu as its new COO alongside Amanda Coyle as VP of Human Resources, and Galaxy Gaming's appointment of Anand Singh as CTO following his two decades of experience at Light & Wonder.
Before becoming CFO, Magang served as the Gambling Authority's Acting CFO, as well as Internal Audit Manager and Financial Planning Manager
