The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has selected Tutor Perini Corporation (TPC) to lead the $140m expansion and renovation of its Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola property, which is expected to be completed during Q3 2026.
TPC’s subsidiary Tutor Perini Building Corp. first began the preconstruction phase in 2025, while contract value will be added to the organization’s backlog incrementally as design milestones and subsequent construction phases are achieved.
The expansion project at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola includes interior and exterior renovations of the existing hotel and casino, including all food and gaming venues, as well as construction of a new seven-story, 130-room hotel tower.
The Oklahoma Tribe first unveiled its plans to rennovate the hotel-casino property on June 24, having originally opened in 1994 as a bingo hall in the Sooner State.
“Choctaw has long been a proud part of this region, growing alongside the community and contributing to its vitality and success,” Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Chief Gary Batton said.
“As the largest employer in LeFlore County and the second largest resort in the Choctaw Casinos & Resort portfolio, Choctaw – Pocola plays a vital role in driving economic growth and opportunity in this region. This investment will allow us to welcome more guests while delivering an even higher level of hospitality and resort experience.”
An official groundbreaking ceremony for the project is expected to take place in the fall of 2026, while Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola’s poker room and off track betting and rewards club will also move to upgraded locations as part of the redesign.
