Online gaming operator Novibet has agreed a three-season sponsorship deal with Cypriot football club AEK Larnaca, becoming the club’s main sponsor from 2026 to 2029.

The partnership will see Novibet and AEK Larnaca collaborate on initiatives designed to strengthen engagement with supporters and create wider community impact.

As part of the agreement, the organisations will work alongside AEK C.A.R.E.S. and Novibet’s Giant Heart initiative to support social projects and community-focused activities.

The deal forms part of Novibet’s wider strategy to build partnerships across sports while expanding its brand presence through long-term collaborations.

In May, the Cypriot National Betting Authority reported market statistics for Q4 2025 showing continued growth in the sector. The GGR of betting operators reached €395.5m ($451.8m), a 22% year-on-year increase.

On an annual basis, total GGR for 2025 reached €1.32bn, marking an 8% increase compared to 2024.

Of the Q4 2025 total, €94.1m came from land-based operators, up 9% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, online operators contributed €301.5m, a 27% year-on-year increase.

Betting taxes and fees totalled €47.4m in Q4 2025, up 4% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The number of operators remained stable, with six land-based operators and 13 online operators.

Regarding the number of land-based venues across Cyprus, this increased slightly by 1% compared to Q4 2024, reaching a total of 467 premises in the country. Of these, 163 are in Nicosia, 135 in Limassol, 84 in Larnaca, 49 in Paphos and 36 in Famagusta.
