Wynn Macau secures land approval for Wynn Palace expansion

Wynn Macau has secured an amendment to its Cotai land concession contract, clearing the way for a major expansion of Wynn Palace with additional hotel and entertainment facilities.

The amended agreement was published in Macau's Official Gazette on 22 July 2026 and replaces the existing land concession contract in its entirety.

Under the new terms, Wynn Macau and its wholly owned indirect subsidiary Palo Real Estate Company Limited are permitted to expand Wynn Palace by developing a new five-star hotel, theatre and event and entertainment centre on the Cotai site.

The Macau Government has given Palo a maximum of 60 months from the publication of the amended contract to complete development of the expanded resort.

As part of the agreement, Palo is required to pay an additional one-off land premium of MOP652.3m, which will be funded from available cash.

Annual rent for the expanded resort will also increase, with Palo required to pay a total of approximately MOP9.48m per year. The Macau Government may review the rental amount every five years from the publication date of the amended agreement.

Palo must additionally provide a deposit or bank guarantee equivalent to the annual rent payable under the revised concession.

The development represents a further expansion of Wynn's Cotai presence while adding more non-gaming facilities to Wynn Palace. The inclusion of a new theatre and dedicated event and entertainment centre also comes as Macau's gaming operators continue investing in tourism and entertainment offerings alongside their casino businesses.

The original land concession was accepted in 2012 and covers approximately 51 acres in Cotai. Under the agreement, Wynn Macau, as a gaming concessionaire, is required to operate and manage gaming activities on the site.

The concession currently runs until May 1, 2037, with provisions allowing successive renewals subject to Macau law.
