IGaming Ontario has released its June 2026 market results, reporting aggregate gross gaming revenue (GGR) of CA$400.6m, up 30.6% from June 2025 despite a slight decline from May.
The market has now surpassed the CA$400m revenue mark in six of the past eight months, having first reached the milestone in November 2025. Total market handle reached CA$9.46bn in June, an increase of 30.3% year over year.
Online casino remained the dominant vertical, generating CA$1.86bn in revenue for H1 2026, a 30% increase year over year.
Online casino gaming also accounted for 88% of total wagers in June. Handle reached CA$8.30bn, down 1% from May, while GGR totalled CA$316.8m, a 3% month-over-month decline but a 30.4% increase compared with June 2025.
Online poker continued to represent just 1% of both handle and revenue in Ontario's regulated iGaming market.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup helped push sports betting handle above CA$1bn, reaching CA$1.03bn for the month. That total was 6% higher than May and 34.5% above June 2025, when there was no World Cup to drive betting activity. June also marked the eighth time in the past 12 months that monthly sports betting handle exceeded CA$1bn.
Sports betting generated CA$78.6m in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) during June, down 3% from May and representing a 20% share of the market.
The number of active player accounts increased 5% month over month to 1.319 million, while average revenue per active account fell 8% to CA$304.
June’s market results do not yet reflect the impact of two major new entrants - DAZN Bet, which launched in Ontario on June 30, and Hard Rock Bet, which entered the market on July 22
