The Superior Tribunal de Justicia has five business days to report on the embargoes imposed on Trewelyn SA, the concessionaire of the now-closed Esquel and Trevelin casinos
Lawmakers requested a detailed, court-ordered inventory of the company's gaming equipment and other assets to determine whether the embargoes remain in effect

Chubut's Chamber of Deputies has requested information from the province's Superior Court of Justice on the legal proceedings against Trewelyn SA, concessionaire of the shuttered Esquel and Trevelin casinos.

The request, approved during the legislative session and driven by Frente de Izquierda lawmaker Juan Aquino, gives the Esquel judicial district five business days to report on the precautionary measures taken to protect the rights of dismissed staff.

Lawmakers are seeking details on the embargoes placed on the company and the procedural steps required for former employees to receive their severance payments.

It focuses specifically on the properties where the company operated until its definitive closure, located in Esquel and in Trevelin, asking the court to clarify the real scope of the restrictions placed on those commercial buildings.

Deputies also asked the court to submit a complete judicialized inventory to verify the condition and legal standing of the preventive or definitive embargo placed on the gaming equipment, movable assets and any other property registered to the company or its directors.

The approved text describes the situation facing former employees as pressing, and lawmakers asked the court to specify the timeline for completing the legal steps needed to make severance payments effective.

The Legislature's stated aim is to ensure that funds obtained through the embargoes go toward settling the company's outstanding debt to workers as quickly as possible.

The closure of the Esquel casino, which took place abruptly earlier this year, was followed by closures at other gaming halls in Chubut province, including a second Trewelyn-owned venue in Trevelin and a separate hall in Rada Tilly operated by Casino Club SA.

Those closures had already prompted a request for information from the provincial government in March, when a separate lawmaker sought details on the concessions held by both companies and the resulting job losses.

The closures in Esquel and Trevelin were followed by a separate casino closure in Rada Tilly operated by Casino Club SA, which had already prompted a provincial request for information in March.
