IPLyC is preparing a further educator training session focused on youth gambling in schools

Misiones' lottery agency IPLyC has continued its school-based responsible gambling campaign.

This week, prevention sessions for students and teachers were held in Itacaruaré and Posadas.

The program, part of the institution's efforts to address gambling addiction among young people, included activities at schools in both locations, as well as teacher training in Posadas.

Professionals from IPLyC's Responsible Gaming Program met with sixth and seventh-grade students in Itacaruaré, focusing on addiction prevention and encouraging them to reflect on how and why they make certain choices.

The team also visited Instituto Posadas, where it held a session for second-year students. Program staff later took part in a teacher training session organized with the province's Directorate General of New Information and Communication Technologies as part of the fifth Provincial Student Center Meeting at the Parque del Conocimiento in Posadas.

Program staff described addiction prevention to students as a path built day by day through personal choices, and encouraged them to examine more closely what those choices actually involve.

IPLyC is also preparing a teacher training day, “Conectados con el cuidado” (“Connected Through Care”), scheduled for September in Posadas. The session will provide educators with tools to address gambling among young people in the classroom.

The visits are part of a wider run of school and youth-focused activities by IPLyC's Responsible Gaming Program in recent weeks. In August, the agency announced the planning of that same teacher training day.
