The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) and Arizona Lottery has launched a statewide effort to help promote Responsible Gambling Education Month (RGEM) this September, including a new digital marketing campaign developed in partnership with the Arizona Media Association.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs issued a statewide proclamation to recognize the observance, as well as reinforce Arizona’s commitment to responsible gaming education and ensuring individuals have access to information, resources and support.
During September, both organizations will look to heighten awareness of consumer resources and training through statewide campaigns, as well as the digital element titled Responsible Play for a Stronger Arizona.
“Arizona has a long-standing commitment to promoting responsible gaming and empowering consumers aged 21 and older to make informed choices about their play, and we are proud to partner with the Arizona Lottery to advance this important work,” ADG Director Jackie Johnson said.
“By identifying and embracing new opportunities – from Responsible Gaming Training to public service announcement campaigns like Responsible Play for a Stronger Arizona – we are taking meaningful action to keep responsible gaming at the forefront and ensure that Arizonans have the awareness, resources and support they need to make informed choices.”
The ADG also introduced no-cost financial counseling for those enrolled in the regulator’s voluntary self-exclusion program and currently struggling with problem gambling on August 5, made possible through a new collaboration with GamFin.
Arizona Lottery Executive Director Alec Thomson also spoke on the RGEM efforts during September, having said, “Promoting responsible gaming is at the heart of our mission and our commitment to keeping players safe.
“This Responsible Gaming Education Month, we are proud to highlight our efforts to promote responsible play, including our partnership with the (ADG) and shared investments in education, awareness and direct support for those who need it.”
The ADG and Arizona Lottery will also motivate state and local leaders to “bring responsible gambling information” directly to their respective communities.
The ADG allocated an event wagering license to Circa Sports on August 3, in partnership with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe, providing access to offer sports betting across the state
