A court in Paraíba has ordered Brazil's telecoms regulator Anatel to block betting platforms operated by Pixbet nationwide.
The court mentions risks to children and adolescents raised in a complaint filed by Father Júlio Lancelotti, a prominent religious figure in Brazil.
The block covers Pixbet, GanheiBet (formerly Flabet) and Bet da Sorte. Contacted through its lawyer, the company had not responded as of publication, and Pixbet's website remained online as of 12:40pm.
Judge João Lucas Souto Gil Messias based the decision on the company's failure, since July 18, to comply with an injunction suspending the group's betting operations, which carried a daily fine of BR100,000 for noncompliance, now totaling BR4.7m.
The judge ordered that debt be enforced and also mandated an independent technical review to verify the effectiveness of Pixbet's biometric verification, facial recognition, databases and access control systems.
Three strikes and... Pixbet's still not out
This marks the third recent setback for the operator: Pixbet previously sponsored big teams like Corinthians and Flamengo before Brazil's regulated betting market was set in 2025, which was a grey area, but now, the company remains under investigation for money laundering over transactions involving offshore companies and lawyer Nelson Wilians, a former client whose firm has said the relationship was strictly professional.
Just three days ago, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) published a notice in the Federal Official Gazette fining Pixbet BR814,567.44 after being unable to locate the company at its registered address.
SPA has already ordered the suspension of Pixbet before due to compliance issues too
