Argentina’s Metropolitan Handball Federation (Fe.Me.Bal.) has announced a “zero-tolerance” policy towards sports betting.
The institution even added that it will be targeting people who collect or transmit live information from its matches for betting-related purposes.
The federation said it had detected people attending competitions with the purpose of transmitting real-time results, incidents and other match information to platforms connected to sports betting.
Under the new measure, anyone identified carrying out these activities will be immediately removed from the venue. Fe.Me.Bal. also said it reserves the right to take additional measures to prevent those individuals from attending future matchdays and to report cases to the relevant clubs, institutions and authorities.
The policy will apply to all competitions organized by Fe.Me.Bal. and every venue where they take place, regardless of category or division.
The federation has also called on clubs, directors, officials, coaching staff and other members of the handball community to help identify and report suspicious behaviour.
"Fe.Me.Bal. will be inflexible towards this type of practice and will not tolerate any activity of this nature within its jurisdiction," it warned in its statement.
The federation framed the decision as a measure to protect the integrity of its competitions, clubs and athletes as sports betting continues to expand.
Separately, Argentina has also recently revised its rules for online gambling advertising. Resolution 271/2026 allows compliance with applicable provincial warning requirements to satisfy the corresponding national obligation, provided the advertising meets federal technical visibility standards.
