DAZN has appointed Alex Gersh, a former Sportradar, Betfair and Paddy Power Betfair executive, as its new CFO, the sports streaming company announced on September 14.
Gersh succeeds Darren Waterman, who had held the CFO role since 2022 and is moving into a newly created CBO position overseeing DAZN's partnerships, distribution and corporate transactions.
Gersh reports directly to DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev, effective immediately.
He brings more than 25 years of international financial leadership across the sports, betting, technology and telecoms sectors at both private and publicly listed companies.
As CFO of Sportradar, he led it through its Nasdaq listing. He previously served as CFO of Betfair and, following its merger with Paddy Power, of the combined Paddy Power Betfair.
The CFO appointment is one of three announced by DAZN as part of the reshuffle. Patrick Delany, formerly CEO of Foxtel Group and Fox Sports Australia, was named COO, taking responsibility for subscriber and revenue growth, rights renewals and content production. All three appointments report to Segev.
Segev said the moves position DAZN's leadership team for what he described as an exciting new chapter of profitable growth, with the platform now available in more than 200 markets.
The appointments follow a period of expansion for DAZN. The company acquired Foxtel Group and broadcast the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, when it also reported profitability for the first time.
In 2026 it has continued scaling through the acquisitions of ViewLift and EverPass, the addition of FIFA+ to its platform and the build-out of a regional sports business in the United States.
DAZN has recently partnered with ADI Predictstreet in an exclusive global deal to offer regulated predictions on live sporting events while fans watch its streams in licensed markets
