FDJ United has reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, as the operator’s revenue decreased 8.1% to €794m (US$891.7m), due in part to “unfavorable economic conditions” and recent tax increases.
"FDJ United’s performance at the end of September reflects factors inherent to the gaming sector, a decrease in traffic at points of sale against a backdrop of an unfavorable economic climate, as well as the expected increase in taxation,” Chairwoman and CEO Stéphane Pallez said.
“In this challenging environment, the Group remains fully committed and is resolutely pursuing the implementation of its action and performance plans to swiftly regain a sustainable growth momentum, underpinned by innovation and the attractiveness of its product portfolio.”
The operator reported €554m of revenue from French lottery and retail sports betting, representing a decrease of 6.8% year-on-year, while online betting and gaming produced €188m but fell 10.2%.
Gross gaming revenue decreased 6.1% to nearly €2bn during Q3, while public levies totaled €1.2bn and fell 5.5%.
FDJ’s International lottery business accounted for €37m of revenue for Q3 2026 and decreased 15.7%, followed by payments and services operations which witnessed a fall of 6.9% to €14m.
As a result of the decreases, FDJ confirmed it is now “aiming at a low-single digit decline in GGR and a mid-single digit decline in revenue” for full-year 2026.
The operator will also move forward with its plan to allocate resources and optimise performance by reviewing online betting and gaming markets and its non-core business assets, such as payments and services.
In September, FDJ outlined its findings from gambling prevention campaigns held in Swedish schools, highlighting a lack of education among youth about gambling-related risks.
The data shows that roughly half of boys surveyed reported having gambled for money, including on betting sites and through loot-box mechanisms. Only 16% of students surveyed received education on gambling risks, compared to 95% for risks related to tobacco and 98% for alcohol.
FDJ United appointed Virginie Christnacht as the operator’s new Chief Commercial Officer during August, with the new executive hire officially going into effect on 14 September
