Scientific Games and Brightstar Global Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brightstar Lottery, have partnered to form SP Loterias SPE S.A. (SPL), a new lottery enterprise set to operate in São Paulo State, Brazil.
"Brightstar is very pleased to expand our operations in Brazil and partner with Scientific Games through SPL to introduce new, exciting lottery options for Sao Paulo's 44 million residents," Brightstar COO of Italy and International Lottery Operations Marco Tasso said.
"Leveraging our 40-plus years' experience operating some of the world's largest lotteries, this agreement enables Brightstar to deliver our best-in-class technology and engaging games to players throughout the country, while creating new, convenient opportunities through the ability to deploy our comprehensive iLottery system and offer eInstant games."
The two entities came to terms on a 15-year concession agreement with the Government of the State of São Paulo to operate the new lottery and obtain an exclusive state license to provide omnichannel technology.
Scientific Games and Brightstar will begin offering residents draw-based, instant, eInstant and passive lottery games through retail and digital channels to generate funding for healthcare investments across São Paulo.

Scientific Games also partnered with Universal Products & Experiences on December 4 for the release of new Fast & Furious-themed lottery products, currently accessible to players in the US and Canada.
