Canadian lottery and charitable gaming supplier Pollard Banknote has named Verica Simic as its next CFO.
She is scheduled to join the business on 16 November 2026 and take up the finance post on 1 January 2027. Her appointment follows the planned retirement of current CFO Rob Rose on 31 December.
The timetable gives Simic several weeks to work with Rose before she assumes the role. Pollard Banknote announced his planned departure in April and began a search for a successor.
In its latest announcement, the supplier said Rose will retire after 32 years with the business. His tenure included its move from private ownership to a public listing and more than a dozen acquisitions, according to the earlier retirement notice.
Simic most recently served as SVP, Finance at Spin Master Corporation, which operates across toys, digital games and entertainment. She previously held senior finance posts at Norbord and Komatsu Canada and earned her CPA designation at Arthur Andersen.
Pollard Banknote said her career spans more than 30 years and includes public company reporting, planning and acquisitions.
The role covers a supplier with activity across printed lottery tickets, charitable gaming products and digital services.
Pollard Banknote provides instant tickets and retail equipment alongside applications, websites and lottery engagement systems. Its joint venture NeoPollard Interactive also supplies iLottery services in North America. That range of operations gives the incoming CFO responsibility for a business extending across physical production and digital delivery.
One recent digital project was the Oklahoma Lottery's player engagement system, which went live in September with a website, mobile apps and a loyalty programme. Pollard Banknote supplied the platform and related digital infrastructure.
The launch illustrates the supplier's work outside its established printed ticket business, while its charitable gaming portfolio includes bingo and electronic pull-tab products.
The appointment announcement does not set out a revised financial outlook. Its focus is the handover: Rose remains CFO through the end of December, while Simic is due to assume the role the next day. The overlap between her arrival and his retirement is intended to support the transfer of finance responsibilities.
In May, fellow lottery supplier Scientific Games named Ray Anderson Interim CFO as Nick Negro prepared to leave the business.
Pollard Banknote says the Pollard family owns approximately 64% of the business
