The operator’s New York site will conclude accepting orders on January 29, while any existing orders will be cancelled and fully refunded

TheLotter US has chosen to suspend operations in New York as of January 29 to focus attention on expanding its lottery courier services to additional states and better support its long-term growth strategy.

Despite having been awarded a license by the New York Gaming Commission and launching in the Empire State during 2025, TheLotter US Head of Marketing Jessica Griggs stated the “difficult decision” will allow the operator to “better allocate resources” and align with its nationwide expansion strategy.

"While we are proud to have served players in New York, this strategic shift enables us to focus on markets where we can grow more efficiently and deliver the best possible experience," Griggs said.

"By concentrating our efforts, we're positioning ourselves for sustainable expansion across the country."

All existing orders in New York, including multi-draw packages or draws from a scheduled subscription after January 29 will be cancelled and fully refunded by TheLotter. Those registered in New York will still be able to withdraw remaining account funds through April 29, however.

TheLotter will maintain its presence in Arizona, Oregon and Minnesota while continuing efforts to strengthen such operations and prepare for additional state launches.

On January 6, Brightstar Lottery and its subsidiary Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation signed a long-term contract extension with the California Lottery, ensuring the entities’ partnership will continue for six more years.

The new contract allows California access to Brightstar's entire instant ticket content and innovations portfolio, as the terms also cover Brightstar's patented print and design technology, Infinity Instants, as well as marketing services, game development and analytical tools.
