Alex Cuoci will be the new Kalshi Chief of Staff after a protracted, public and unconventional recruitment process.
Kalshi's new hire has a background in technology, commerce and investment banking, most recently serving as the Principal of Strategy and Business Operations at Waymo.
The company has been on a recruitment drive that the Growth Operations Lead, Brandon Beckhardt, has described as 'hyper-scaling.'
The search for a new Chief of Staff began with a LinkedIn call out from CEO, Tarek Mansour.
He later described receiving over 2,000 applications, none of which matched his expectations: "We did not end up loving anyone."
Taking an alternative route, he posted again saying that rather than applying for the job directly, people could reply to his post publicly, nominating someone else for the role.
Job specifications included: willingness to work 12+ hours a day, seven days a week, and a track record of "never dropping balls (at all costs... no matter how many balls)."
An added bonus was that if you recommended the candidate who was eventually selected you would receive $10,000.
Cuoci's name is conspicuously absent from the viewable comments in that particular thread, so it is unclear whether it was by this irregular route that the eventual successful candidate was unearthed.
The new Chief of Staff has shared his excitement to begin work at Kalshi and posted himself, saying: "At a time when trust in institutions is at an all-time low, prediction markets have never been more important. They remove bias, reward truth, and turn collective judgment into something measurable."
Tarek Mansour has form making big announcements personally via LinkedIn - he shared news of the company's latest investment via that channel
