Scientific Games has committed its support to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)'s Gift Responsibly holiday campaign for an eighth consecutive year, and was the first-ever lottery games provider to join the initiative at the time of launch.
"Responsible gaming is a core pillar of our operations," Scientific Games Senior Director of Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility Stephanie McCummings said.
"Through initiatives like the Gift Responsibly campaign, we're helping raise awareness that lottery games are meant for adults, while supporting our lottery partners in promoting healthy play."
The NCPG's annual Gift Responsibly campaign looks to reinforce a global commitment to responsible gaming and bring awareness to the risk of gifting lottery games to minors.
According to the release, recent studies have found the "vast majority" of lottery players gamble in a responsible manner and remain in the "low risk" category of problem gambling habits.
Scientific Games also stated it works closely with partners to ensure responsible gaming principles are integrated throughout all products, programs and services.
The lottery games provider launched its responsible gaming research study in 2021, an annual practice which helps generate data-driven insights into player behavior and attitudes.
Scientific Games currently serves as a platinum member of the NCPG and partners with regulators, researchers and advocacy organizations to remain compliant with global initiatives in player protection.
