The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has formed a first-of-its-kind collaboration with the Solana Foundation to introduce cryptocurrency payment methods for guests and players for the first time in event history.
Starting with the 57th annual summer event at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas, players can purchase WSOP tickets using Solana, which is currently powered by MoonPay’s payment infrastructure.
Solana will also serve as the official presenting sponsor of the 2026 WSOP and WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas, where tournament winners will be able to receive settlements in stablecoins provided by the network.
"We are incredibly proud to bring such an innovative and passionate community into the fold," WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said.
"Solana’s ecosystem, like the WSOP, constantly challenges conventions and remains laser-focused on the consumer experience. Solana’s speed and efficiency mirror the fast-paced energy of our tournaments, and we are excited to showcase their technology to our global audience."
Solana will sponsor a select group of poker ambassadors to represent the network’s ecosystem at WSOP events this summer, as well as host exclusive hospitality activations at the Paris and Horseshoe venues in Las Vegas.
Solana Chief Product Officer Vibhu Norby also spoke on the collaboration, having said, “Solana is a digital economy where people can own and trade millions of assets, make payments, earn on their money and more. Trading in particular has been a huge area of growth on Solana over the last few years, generating over $4tn in volume.
“At its core, trading shares many of the same characteristics as poker: hard decisions, incomplete information, minding your bankroll. We’re incredibly excited to grow the game of poker with the WSOP and bring these two worlds together.”
In March, the WSOP mobile application introduced its first-ever blackjack game mode, featuring the Power Power Jackpot main side bet and a new in-game blackjack dealer character, Sofia.
Power Power Jackpot pays out based on a three-card poker hand, stemming from the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s upcard while also integrating consensus poker hand rankings into the offering.
Playtika unveiled a new collaboration with the NFL in December 2025, set to introduce themed features from the professional football league within the provider's World Series of Poker mobile application
