Brazil’s Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) has filed criminal charges against influencer Bruno Alexssander Souza Silva, known as Buzeira, and four other individuals as part of the latest phase of Operation Narco Bet.
The case, filed by the MPF’s Special Group for Combating Organized Crime (Gaeco), alleges the defendants participated in a criminal organization involved in money laundering, foreign exchange violations, false statements and the concealment of assets through betting companies, cryptocurrency transactions and international financial structures.
The charges were initially assigned to the 5th Federal Court of Santos before being transferred to the 6th Federal Court, which will determine whether the case proceeds to trial.
Buzeira rose to prominence through online giveaways, raffles and luxury lifestyle content. He was previously arrested in October 2025 and is currently being held in São Paulo state.
According to prosecutors, the influencer acted as the hidden controller, financier and ultimate beneficiary of betting brands Brxbet and Ricobet despite not formally appearing in their ownership structures.
The MPF alleges that the absence of his name from corporate records formed part of a strategy designed to conceal the true control of the operations and reduce exposure to regulatory scrutiny.
Prosecutors claim the organization used betting companies, offshore structures, cryptocurrency transactions and international financial operations to disguise the origin and destination of funds allegedly linked to other criminal activities.
The investigation also identified what prosecutors describe as the use of “straw men” and intermediary individuals to obscure beneficial ownership and create a veneer of legitimacy around the movement of funds.
The allegations remain accusations at this stage and will now be examined by the Federal Court as part of the judicial process.
Brazil’s Ministry of Finance has placed betting advertising on its 2026-2027 Regulatory Agenda and plans to review rules governing affiliates and digital influencers during the first quarter of 2026
