The Commercial Gambling Management Commission of Cambodia (CGMC) has reviewed preparations for nationwide casino inspections and outlined its key priorities for the second half of 2026.
The meeting was chaired by CGMC Secretary General Yeth Vinel and attended by Deputy Secretary General Sen Sopheap, technical advisors, department directors, bureau chiefs and other officials in Phnom Penh.
Participants discussed plans for casino inspections and evaluations focused on ensuring operators comply with regulatory standards and improving operational quality across the sector.
Officials also discussed the development of the CGMC’s strategic plan for 2027 to 2030, which will establish the regulator’s long-term objectives and framework for supporting sustainable development and effective oversight of the gambling industry.
The meeting follows an earlier session this month, where the CGMC discussed plans to improve inspection standards and the management of casino employee licenses.
These developments come as Cambodia continues efforts to strengthen gambling oversight through regulatory reforms and enforcement actions against operators linked to illegal activities. In May, the CGMC revoked Casino Ying Huang’s license after authorities uncovered alleged links to online scam operations.
The raid resulted in the detention of 66 individuals and the seizure of nearly 1,000 computers, more than 400 mobile phones, a firearm and suspected narcotics.
Following the investigation, the commission reminded all licensed casino operators to comply with Cambodian law and warned against involvement in online scams or other criminal activities.
In June, CGMC Chairman Aun Pornmoniroth urged relevant government agencies to carry out a full assessment of casinos across Cambodia, including a review of their licensing status
