Entain has unveiled the transition of two brands – Sports Interaction and PartyCasino – into Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market, following licence approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) on 23 July.

"Alberta represents an exciting next step for regulated online gaming in Canada. What sets Entain apart is our deep commitment and roots in Canada," Entain Head of Canada Shir Magen said.

"We understand this market and its customers. We design our product, offering and customer experience with intention and on-the-ground knowledge. Entain's global scale, technology and industry-leading player protection capabilities allows us to deliver a premium experience tailored specifically for Albertans."

Entain joins operators such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Entertainment and Hard Rock Bet in having launched across Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market, which officially went live on 13 July.

Sports Interaction serves as a sports betting platform for the operator which originally launched in 1997, while PartyCasino hosts over 3,000 iGaming titles, including live dealer content and online slots.

Alberta became Canada’s second province to establish a regulated iGaming market after Ontario began granting licences in April 2022, with the government-run portal continuing to operate alongside private brands.

The AGLC is responsible for registering operators and suppliers, certifying systems and enforcing regulatory standards, while the Alberta iGaming Corporation signs commercial agreements, manages operator relationships and oversees anti-money laundering, complaints and financial reporting.

The AGLC’s register, effective 10 July, listed 50 operator registrations, 58 critical gaming systems providers and 14 platform providers.
