Novig’s collaboration with the New York Mets represents the first-ever partnership between an MLB franchise and prediction market
The operator was previously designated as an MLB Authorized Prediction Market, allowing Novig to work directly with teams and use official league data

The New York Mets have appointed Novig as the franchise’s exclusive official prediction market partner, representing the first-ever collaboration formed between a Major League Baseball (MLB) club and prediction market operator.

"Our mission is to build the home for sports trading," Novig Co-Founder and CEO Jacob Fortinsky said.

"Partnering with one of baseball's most iconic franchises allows us to bring that vision directly to fans in one of the greatest sports markets in the world."

As part of the multi-year collaboration, Novig will receive in-stadium signage across Citi Field, in-game moments, broadcast branding and original digital and social content.

Mets President of Business Operations Lew Sherr also spoke on the new partnership with Novig, confirming the franchise wants to “be at the forefront of things that our fans are engaged in.”

MLB previously signed an agreement with Polymarket to name the operator as its exclusive prediction market partner and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to share information regarding event contract trading in baseball.

Novig was named as an MLB Authorized Prediction Market, allowing the operator to work directly with franchises, use official league data and participate in MLB's integrity program.

Not only does the partnership represent a first for MLB, but it also marks Novig’s inaugural collaboration with a professional sports franchise.

The operator confirmed it received designation from the CFTC as a designated contract market (DCM) in June, providing authorization to manage a federally regulated prediction market and expand under a single regulatory framework.

As a result of the CFTC designation, Novig will be able to operate across all 50 states and implement safeguards such as market surveillance, protections against manipulation and insider activity and “comprehensive” compliance standards.
