The Virginia Lottery has reported the state’s total sports wagering activity for June 2026, as online and retail operators combined to generate $589.2m of handle during the monthly period, representing growth of 6.4%.
Despite the overall increase in sports wagering handle for Virginia operators, adjusted gross revenue (AGR) totaled $55.9m for June, equating to a 2.2% decrease year-over-year.
Mobile sports betting operations accounted for just over $55.6m of the state’s total AGR for June, equating to a decrease of 3.1%, while retail activity drove $220,411 of revenue and managed to grow from a $327,616 loss during the prior year period.
While mobile operations still generated the vast majority of Virginia’s total sports betting handle after reporting nearly $586m and increasing 23.9%, retail betting handle reached $3.2m for June and fell 37.1%.

Those currently licensed in Virginia also submitted $8.4m in total tax payments, including $8.2m to the state’s General Fund Allocation and $216,860 to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund Allocation.
On July 15, the Virginia Lottery also reported the state’s total casino activity for June, as commercial operators combined to generate $92.1m of revenue during the monthly period, equating to an increase of 17.3%.
The state regulator reported a total slot machine revenue increase of 20.5% to $71.1m, while table game revenue across the state rose 7.5% to $21m.
Caesars Virginia generated the most revenue of any land-based operator after increasing 5% to $32.1m, while Rivers Casino Portsmouth reported a decrease of 6.7% but still accounted for nearly $24.7m.
