Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires trained BetWarrior personnel to identify early signs of problem gambling and apply responsible gambling tools
The session covered self-exclusion tools, the Sistema Informático de Registro de Autoexclusión (SIRA) and the annual responsible gambling training requirement

The Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires trained personnel from online operator BetWarrior on responsible gambling tools, which was conducted by the regulator's Subgerencia de Conducta del Juego.

Staff received guidance on identifying early signs of problem gambling, providing appropriate orientation to users and correctly applying responsible gambling policies and tools established under current regulations.

The session also covered the tools available on online gambling platforms, the operation of the Sistema Informático de Registro de Autoexclusión (SIRA), the features of the Self-Exclusion Program and the guidance and referral resources available to people requiring assistance.

The training also addressed the practical application of these tools, with staff receiving information on how to identify situations that may require intervention and how to direct users toward available assistance and support resources.

The initiative forms part of Lotería de la Ciudad's work with authorized operators on the implementation of responsible gambling measures and user protection tools, in line with the law, which requires annual responsible gambling training for personnel working in betting sales channels.

The session comes after BetWarrior faced criticism over an advertisement that used artificial intelligence to recreate the image and voice of Diego Maradona.

The ad, which aired during 2026 World Cup matches in Argentina, was authorized by several of Maradona's heirs but drew criticism over the use of the former footballer's likeness in connection with a betting platform.
