Peter Longi joins Happy Valley Casino as new GM

Happy Valley Casino has appointed Peter Longi as its new GM, where he will oversee day-to-day operations and provide strategic leadership as the property continues to establish its presence across Pennsylvania.

“I look forward to working with the team to drive operational excellence, enhance the guest experience and position the casino for continued success.”

Longi most recently served as Assistant GM of Sahara Las Vegas and has maintained roles in slot operations, table games and player development as part of his 30+ year career. 

With Sahara, Longi led performance improvements through operational strategies, floor optimization and a focus on guest experience.

Happy Valley Casino is marked as a category four casino by Pennsylvania regulators and is currently located inside the Nittany Mall in State College. The property features 600 slot machines and 30 table games, as well as a full-service restaurant and quick-service dining option.

Prior to joining Sahara Las Vegas, Longi worked as an Assistant GM at Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. He also served as VP of Casino Operations for both Penn National Gaming and Ameristar Casino. 

Heading west – and past Longi’s former employer in Sahara – Morongo Casino Resort & Spa appointed Rick Rothenberger as the Tribal property’s new VP of Gaming Operations on August 3, where he will oversee casino activity and new innovation for the southern California property.

Prior to joining Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, Rothenberger served with Agua Caliente Casinos as VP of Slots and as Director of Slot Operations at Soboba Casino Resort. 

Rothenberger also worked as Director of Slot Operations at Golden Acorn Casino & Travel Center, as well as VP of Casino Operations with Sycuan Casino Resort.
