The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the total casino activity from Detroit’s three commercial gaming establishments during July, as the operators combined to increase revenue 5.2% to $112.6m.
Table games and slot machines accounted for $111.6m of the total revenue for July, representing an increase of 5.3%. MGM Grand Detroit led all operators with $52.5m of table game and slot machine revenue, having risen 3.3% year-over-year.
MotorCity Casino and Hollywood Casino at Greektown reported $34.3m and $24.8m of table games and slots revenue for July, respectively, equating to increases of 8.7% and 5.2%.
Retail sports betting in Detroit generated $929,704 of revenue for July, decreasing 9.9% from the prior year period but rising 11.2% month-over-month. Despite reporting the highest retail sports betting revenue for July with $461,165, MotorCity Casino witnessed a fall of 1.6%.

Also on August 11, MotorCity Casino unveiled the first phase of its newly renovated guestrooms, part of a multi-year, $65m initiative scheduled to progressively open through the end of 2027. The initial phase includes two completed floors, with additional renovated guestrooms and suites expected to launch as part of the project.
MGM Grand Detroit produced $360,265 of retail sports betting revenue and increased 89.5%, while Hollywood Casino at Greektown’s revenue decreased 71% to $108,724.
For July, fantasy contest operators in Detroit generated $494,799 of revenue, as well as submitted $41,563 in tax payments. The three casinos paid $9m in state gaming taxes during July and $13.3m in wagering taxes and development agreements.
The MGCB reported the state’s total online sports betting and iGaming activity for June 2026 on July 21, as adjusted gross receipts (AGR) from both verticals totaled $309.4m, equating to an increase of 20.6%.
iGaming operations accounted for $289.2m of the state’s total online gambling revenue for June, having risen 28% year-over-year. Online sports betting produced an additional $20.1m of AGR but decreased 33.9%.
