Travellers International attributable net income nearly doubles to PHP568m in H1 2026
EBITDA rises 13% to PHP4.4bn as net revenue reaches PHP15.2bn
Non-VIP GGR increases 6% despite a broader decline across the Philippine gaming market

Travellers International Hotel Group, the Alliance Global Group (AGI) leisure and tourism business that owns and operates Newport World Resorts, reported attributable net income of PHP568m ($9.2m) for the first half of 2026, nearly double the previous-year level.

Net revenue reached PHP15.2bn, while EBITDA increased 13% year-on-year to PHP4.4bn. The improvement came as the operator reduced its reliance on VIP gaming and generated a greater share of revenue from mass-market gaming and non-gaming operations.

Non-VIP gross gaming revenue (GGR) rose 6% to PHP9.6bn during the period, while non-gaming revenue increased 12% to PHP3.9bn, supported by higher hotel room rates and food and beverage sales.

The results contrast with weaker conditions across the wider Philippine gaming market. PAGCOR reported that industry GGR fell 15.9% year-on-year to PHP87.6bn in the first quarter, with softer discretionary spending among the factors affecting performance.

Travellers International had already identified mass-market gaming, digital channels and non-gaming attractions as areas of focus this year, while taking a more cautious approach to VIP business. The strategy comes as it prepares to expand beyond Newport World Resorts through Westside Resorts Manila.

Newport World Resorts H1 2026 performance

Non-VIP gaming and non-gaming revenue increased in the first half of 2026, as Travellers International continued to shift its revenue mix away from VIP gaming.

The operator is also preparing additional capacity through Narra Palm Resorts and Villas, with both developments scheduled to come on stream later in 2026.

The additions give Travellers International further exposure to tourism and gaming demand as its revenue mix continues to shift away from volatile VIP play.

At group level, AGI reported first-half net income of PHP16bn, up 3% from the normalized PHP15.6bn recorded a year earlier. Consolidated revenue, excluding the impact of the 2025 deconsolidation of Golden Arches Development Corporation, increased 3% to almost PHP90bn.

Megaworld remained a major earnings contributor, posting PHP12.7bn in net income on PHP44.2bn of consolidated revenue, while Emperador generated PHP29.6bn in revenue and PHP3.7bn in net income.

In May, Global Gaming Insider reported that AGI's first-quarter net income increased 6% to PHP7.8bn, while Travellers International generated PHP7bn in net revenue and PHP6.6bn in GGR as mass-market demand helped offset softer VIP performance.
