Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency has approved the operating framework for the 2026 Lotteria Italia, setting a €5m ($5.8m) top prize and an initial production run of 12.6 million tickets.
Sales will begin on 1 September, with each ticket priced at €5 and available in paper or digital form.
The initial allocation comprises 11.2 million physical tickets across 16 series and 1.4 million digital tickets across two series. Further series may be issued if demand requires.
Physical ticket sales may continue until 8.30pm on 6 January 2027, while digital sales will close at 8am on 5 January. Digital tickets will be available through authorised remote-gambling concessionaires to customers holding a gaming account.
The lottery will again be linked to Rai 1 television programme Affari tuoi. Its final draw will take place in Rome after 9pm on 6 January, with five first-category prizes available. The precise value of the four prizes below the €5m jackpot will be determined as part of the pre-draw procedures.
Tickets also include a ten-digit or QR code for entry into daily and special-prize draws. From 21 September to 7 December, seven codes will normally be selected each Monday, with each receiving €10,000.
Winning tickets will be announced individually during Affari tuoi episodes from 28 September.
A further seven codes will be selected on 14 December for special prizes of €20,000 each. ADM may also authorise additional promotional prizes worth no more than €300,000 in total between 2 November and 4 December.
Codes can be registered by telephone, SMS, the lottery website or the My Lotteries app until 13 December. Each code may be entered once.
Claims for final, daily and special prizes must be submitted within 180 days from the day after ADM publishes the official draw bulletin. Winning tickets remain subject to validation before payment.
