Tipwin has appointed former Tipico executive Christian Heins as its new Chief Commercial Officer, with the company looking to accelerate growth across its digital business.
Heins officially joined Tipwin's management team on 1 September and will oversee the operator's virtual gaming machines and online sports betting business in Germany and international markets. His responsibilities will include expanding Tipwin's digital product portfolio and enhancing the integration between its land-based betting shops and online offerings.
The appointment comes after four years at Tipico, where Heins served as Director of iGaming and led the company's online casino business through Germany's evolving regulatory environment. During his tenure, he oversaw the transition to the country's GGL licensing framework, introduced a proprietary gaming platform and helped grow Tipico's market share despite challenging market conditions.
Beyond his commercial responsibilities, Heins also founded the German Gambling Gathering, an initiative designed to encourage collaboration among licensed operators, and more recently established the European Gambling Gathering, an independent platform focused on promoting market integrity, responsible gambling and tackling illegal gambling across Europe.
Tipwin said the appointment forms part of its strategy to unlock further opportunities in digital gaming while maintaining a strong emphasis on responsible and compliant products.
CEO Dr Damir Böhm said Heins brings extensive industry knowledge and a strong understanding of modern digital gambling products, adding that his experience will support the continued development of the company's commercial strategy.
Heins said Tipwin's combination of proprietary technology and an experienced development team gives it the flexibility to compete effectively in a fast-changing market. He described the company as "the speedboat racing against the tankers" and said he looks forward to helping shape the next phase of its growth.
The latest appointment follows a broader expansion of Tipwin's digital ambitions as operators across regulated European markets continue investing in technology, omnichannel strategies and responsible gambling initiatives to strengthen their competitive positions.
Heins previously led Tipico's iGaming business and founded the European Gambling Gathering
