Return2Plai assesses whether individual athletes will play up to 24 hours before kick-off
Confirmed official designations generate rule-based outputs, while uncertain cases receive confidence-limited predictions
SCCG will support the product’s commercial distribution across betting, fantasy, data and media markets

SCCG Management has added Return2Plai to its portfolio and will represent the player-availability technology to sportsbooks, fantasy operators, data businesses and sports media companies.

Return2Plai is designed to determine whether a named athlete is likely to participate in a specific game up to 24 hours before kick-off. The product is delivered through an API intended for integration into existing pricing, lineup and reporting systems.

For players carrying a confirmed designation such as Injured Reserve, Out or Physically Unable to Perform, the system applies rules to return a deterministic result without running a predictive model.

Where availability remains uncertain, including Questionable, Limited and Did Not Practice designations, Return2Plai combines current reporting with calibrated historical assumptions. It then produces a bounded prediction with a stated confidence level.

The company said confidence is capped within the system to prevent outputs claiming greater certainty than the available inputs support. Each result is also stamped with the rules or product version used, allowing customers to review individual predictions retrospectively.

According to Return2Plai, the weighting methodology uses predefined injury and availability characteristics refined against observed outcomes over multiple NFL seasons. The company said its prediction methodology is protected by granted patent claims.

Commenting on the development, SCCG Founder and CEO Stephen Crystal stated: "The hardest question in football arrives every single week, and it arrives before anyone official is ready to answer it. Is he playing?

"As someone who has spent more than three decades connecting operators to the technology that actually solves their problem, I look for the products that answer a question our clients already have to answer, every day, whether or not a good tool exists for it. Return2Plai is one of those products, and SCCG Management is now representing it in market."

SCCG will position the product as a supporting data input rather than a replacement for customers’ existing operations. Sportsbooks would retain responsibility for pricing their markets, while fantasy platforms would continue managing their own contests and lineups.

The agreement extends SCCG’s portfolio of technology partnerships. In recent weeks, the company has partnered with spatial AI business Trivver to introduce interactive commerce products to gaming operators and signed a separate agreement with IntualityAI covering prediction and betting markets.
