The Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) announced changes to its board, naming Ian Angus as Treasurer and Olivia Petit as Secretary following the departures of Tim Miller and Jean-Michel Costes.
Miller stepped down from the GREF board after leaving the UK Gambling Commission, where he spent a decade as Executive Director of Policy and Research.
His departure from the UK regulator takes effect this month, after which he plans to take on an advisory role supporting governments, regulators and other organisations developing and overseeing gambling regulatory systems internationally.
Costes left the GREF board following his own departure from the board of France's National Gambling Authority (ANJ).
Angus, who serves as Director of Policy at the UK Gambling Commission, takes over as GREF's Treasurer. Petit, an Associate Professor at KEDGE Business School with research expertise in consumer behaviour, digital environments and emerging technologies, becomes Secretary.
GREF said it looks forward to working with Angus and Petit in their new roles as it continues its mission of fostering cooperation, dialogue and knowledge sharing among gambling regulators across Europe and beyond.
Miller's exit is part of a broader leadership turnover at the UK Gambling Commission this year. Former Chief Executive Andrew Rhodes left the regulator in April to take up a role as a consultant to a gambling law firm, and the Commission has continued searching for a permanent chair, a gap that has drawn criticism from parts of the industry amid an expanding regulatory workload.
