The Balkan Gaming Federation (BGF), an international alliance of gaming trade associations, has announced its inaugural leadership team.

Dragan Skrbić, President of the Serbian association AGOS, has been elected as the BGF’s first President. He will be joined by two Vice Presidents: Filip Jelavić, Secretary General of Croatia's HUPIS, and Sorin Georgescu, President of Romania's Romslot and Vice President of Fedbet.

The BGF was founded earlier this year, bringing together trade associations from Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and North Macedonia, which signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

BGF moves toward closer ties with Euromat

Next on the BGF agenda is closer cooperation with Euromat. The BGF already discussed this with Euromat President Jason Frost, who attended the election of the BGF leadership.

This cooperation has been part of the BGF's plans from the outset. The BGF aims to establish itself as a regional Balkan cluster within the broader Euromat framework. This approach would help the Federation unify the challenges, expertise, as well as positions of Balkan markets and connect them more directly to the European policy debate.

At the same time, it would provide Euromat with a more structured link to a region that includes both EU Member States and Western Balkan markets. This cooperation already has a solid institutional basis. Four of BGF's seven member associations are already members of Euromat.

Annual roundtable and regional B2B forum planned

Recent meetings in Bucharest supported Romania’s legal gaming sector as it navigates regulatory changes.  The BGF is shifting toward concrete initiatives.

On 25 November 2026, the BGF will launch its annual roundtable, bringing together industry leaders from across the Balkans to discuss business interests, challenges and regulation. The BGF is also preparing a larger regional B2B forum with an exhibition that will rotate among Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.

Earlier, the BGF also reported combating the illegal market and promoting responsible gambling initiatives among its priorities.
