Spelinspektionen has issued Sports Alliance Sweden a warning and financial penalty
The operator failed to meet the requirements for information provided on physical lottery tickets

The Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) has issued a warning and imposed a SEK 150,000 ($14,900) sanction fee on Sports Alliance Sweden after identifying deficiencies in the information provided on physical lottery tickets.

The regulator launched an inspection in February 2026. It assessed compliance with the Gambling Act's technical requirements, the fixed prize plan requirements under the Gambling Ordinance and the rules governing the information that must be provided on physical lottery tickets.

Following the inspection, the authority found that Sports Alliance Sweden had failed to meet the information requirements, resulting in the warning and financial penalty.

Earlier this month, Spelinspektionen, issued an interim decision revoking Charm Entertainment AB's licence for commercial land-based casino gaming, requiring the operator to cease its licensed activities immediately.

The measure will remain in effect until Spelinspektionen reaches a final decision, with the interim revocation lasting no later than 1 April 2027.

The regulator has also begun a suitability review of board and management changes reported by 17 licensees, including state-owned operator AB Svenska Spel.

The review spans licences for gambling serving public-benefit purposes, state-reserved gambling and commercial land-based gaming. Alongside Svenska Spel, the published list includes Bingo Uppsala, Cherry Spelglädje AB and several sports associations.

Swedish enforcement continues against operators outside the licensing system as well. In September, Spelinspektionen prohibited those responsible for Stakes.com from offering gambling to Swedish consumers without a local licence.

During the first quarter, the regulator opened several supervisory cases concerning suspected unlicensed gambling. It said follow-up analysis showed prohibitions can reduce traffic to targeted websites, although their effectiveness varies as operators change their methods or use multiple domains.
