Its AI-based Gamble Tracker system identifies suspected illegal gambling sites for further verification and reporting
Seven prevention campaigns this year have attracted 9,126 participants, including 2,631 who signed anti-illegal gambling pledges

Kangwon Land has expanded its efforts against illegal gambling through artificial intelligence monitoring, joint enforcement activities and prevention campaigns involving the South Korean Army and other agencies.

The operator said it has established cooperation with the Korea Gambling Control Commission, Game Rating and Administration Committee and police to improve information sharing and coordinate enforcement against illegal gambling operations.

Kangwon Land is also working with the Military Police Office of the Army Headquarters to conduct awareness campaigns targeting military personnel and the wider public.

Its online monitoring efforts include Gamble Tracker, an AI-based detection system developed through collaboration with the KAIST Cyber Security Research Center.

The technology searches online channels for suspected illegal gambling sites and related information. Potential cases are subsequently reviewed by dedicated personnel, who collect evidence before reporting confirmed sites to relevant authorities for blocking.

Offline enforcement has also been expanded through joint crackdowns involving relevant agencies and local communities. Public tip-offs and both online and offline monitoring are being used to broaden the surveillance network.

Alongside enforcement, Kangwon Land has conducted seven prevention campaigns this year, attracting 9,126 participants. Of those, 2,631 signed a voluntary pledge supporting the eradication of illegal gambling.

One of the latest campaigns was held during the 16th Gyeryong Military Culture Festival from October 1 to 5 in South Chungcheong Province. Activities targeted military personnel, their families and other visitors.

Kangwon Land plans to continue its public outreach at G-STAR 2026 in Busan in November, where it will operate a booth highlighting illegal gambling risks and responsible gaming practices.

The company said its broader strategy will continue combining technology, public education and inter-agency cooperation as illegal online gambling becomes increasingly difficult to detect.
