KSA board members have visited four fellow Dutch regulators to exchange knowledge and experience
Discussions aim to identify shared interests and establish direct communication between organisations
An annual meeting with the Dutch media regulator is also due to take place

Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) is exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation with other Dutch regulators through meetings focused on sharing supervisory knowledge and experience.

In a LinkedIn post, the gambling authority said its board members, Wiebe Ruttenberg and Carol Verheij, had visited counterparts at four organisations since taking office.

These include the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP), the Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

KSA said the discussions provided an opportunity to understand each organisation’s responsibilities, expertise and priorities, while identifying areas of common interest.

Although the authority oversees the gambling market, it noted that issues arising in society frequently extend across several policy and supervisory areas. Exchanging experience with other regulators could therefore support its work where responsibilities intersect.

The meetings are intended to build mutual understanding and establish direct lines of communication between organisations, each of which retains its own supervisory responsibilities.

KSA linked the outreach to the arrival of its new board members, saying it was examining how regulators could share their knowledge and strengthen cooperation where possible.

An annual board-level consultation with the Commissariaat voor de Media (CvdM), the Dutch media regulator, is also due to take place. The authority said it looked forward to that discussion and further introductions across the supervisory sector.

The outreach follows other recent KSA activity spanning enforcement, payments and player support. In October, the regulator reported the removal of 26 websites imitating gambling brands through cooperation with domain operator CO.NL, and published guidance on verifying player payment accounts after identifying weaknesses in operators’ checks.
