Svenska Spel CEO Anna Johnson noted: ‘’Growth in the Swedish gaming market is moderate, while competition for customers is fierce. Against this background, it is a statement of strength that we are gaining market share in both the license and lottery markets in the first half of 2026.
‘’Our sports betting business continues to perform strongly. We exceeded our World Cup targets in the closing weeks of July, with high customer activity all the way to the final. In addition to successful activities and customer offers, our partnership with the Swedish Football Association is strengthening the business and is an important part of an attractive customer offering.‘’
Notable developments during the period include extending the partnership with ice hockey's two top leagues, SHL and SDHL, until 2031. The operator will continue as the main sponsor of both leagues and their clubs.
Furthermore, in partnership with the Swedish Sports Federation, Svenska Spel awarded 60 new elite sports scholarships. The operator also extended and broadened its collaboration with the Swedish Ski Association until 2032, now covering all sports within the association. Finally, the sale of the former Casino Cosmopol property in Stockholm has been completed.
