Pivoting to journalism only two years ago, the career change for Eddie Overs began as taking writing classes before his official studies last year, building experience with freelance work until his current position as a staff writer for Global Gaming Insider.
With a specialisation in all things film and TV, Eddie also has a deep interest in culture and current affairs, believing that a journalist’s job should inform, educate and use their platform to shed light on important issues. And with the evolution of gambling and betting changing rapidly, Eddie arrives at an industry with the mentality of consistent improvement and being open to other people’s opinions and is particularly drawn to indigenous stories that are heavily underrepresented.
Prior to his journalism career, Eddie spent several years in the performing arts and film industry, acting and making props in various feature films. But the aspiration to write was always there and he now looks into the preservation of culture and how it shapes not only our identity but our inner thoughts and desires.
