Global Gaming Women has announced the addition of Julia Weygandt to its Board of Directors.
Weygandt has been a part of the US-based organization's International Committee since 2023 but will now represent that arm of the body to the rest of the Board.
Following the conclusion of her term, Weygandt is replacing the incumbent Betting and Gaming Council CEO, Grainne Hurst.
It has been a busy couple of weeks for the new board member who recently started a new role at Continent 8 Technologies, an IT solutions provider for the iGaming industry.
In that role Weygandt will be the Head of Client Growth and New Business, while with GGW her responsibilities include serving as an ambassador and champion of the organization's efforts to support the development of women in the gaming industry.
Weygandt has thanked her predecessor, Hurst, for the team she built and the work she's done expanding GGW's global presence.
In a post on LinkedIn, Weygandt also said: "It's no secret how much GGW's mission to support, connect and elevate women across the gaming industry matters to me and I'm honored to help drive its international growth alongside such an inspiring group of leaders."
Global Gaming Women is a not-for-profit association with various committees covering education, events, marketing, membership, mentorship and administrative portfolios, along with the International Committee of which Weygandt is a member.
Recent shuffling at board level has also seen the organization appoint Siobhan Lane as its new President and Chair, succeeding Lauren Bates, whose term also comes to a close on 31 December.
Global Gaming Women was first created as a development program by the American Gaming Association in 2011
