Las Vegas rang in 2026 with a large-scale New Year's Eve celebration that combined traditional fireworks displays with the city's first coordinated drone show, marking the 25th edition of its annual "America's Party" event.
An eight-minute fireworks display, produced by Fireworks by Grucci, launched simultaneously from the rooftops of 10 resorts along the Las Vegas Strip, including ARIA, Caesars Palace, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, MGM Grand, Resorts World Las Vegas, The Venetian Resort and The Strat.
The synchronized display followed months of planning and installation, involving more than 3,300 labor hours and dozens of pyrotechnicians.
For the first time, the fireworks were accompanied by a Drone Light Spectacular, featuring 600 LED drones operating in coordination with the rooftop launches.
The aerial display included imagery associated with Las Vegas, such as a roulette wheel, slot machine and the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, before concluding with a red, white and blue sequence tied to the lead-up to the United States' 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026.
Sphere once again acted as the city's official countdown venue, using its exterior LED surface to display custom New Year's Eve content ahead of midnight. The show included new creative elements and marked the venue's second year participating in the Strip-wide countdown.
Away from the Strip, the Fremont Street Experience hosted its annual Countdown Under the Canopy event in downtown Las Vegas. The celebration included live music performances across multiple stages, followed by a midnight fireworks display from Plaza Hotel & Casino.
According to projections from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, approximately 345,000 visitors were expected to be in the city for New Year's Eve, reinforcing Las Vegas' position as a major destination for large-scale holiday events.
The New Year's Eve celebrations follow continued investment across Las Vegas Strip properties. In November, MGM Grand completed a $300m renovation of nearly 4,000 rooms and suites in its main tower, part of a broader effort by major operators to refresh accommodation and entertainment offerings as visitor volumes remain strong.
Fireworks by Grucci has produced 21 of Las Vegas' 25 New Year's Eve "America's Party" fireworks shows, including each of the past 19 consecutive events
