LiveScore Group CPO Sam Talbot has decided to step down from his role with the operator after serving in the position for just over three years. Talbot announced the news through social media on January 5, having originally joined LiveScore as CPO in October 2022.

"After three and a half years, the time has come to say goodbye to LiveScore Group," Talbot said.

"We've delivered loads of cool stuff, I've met some amazing people and had plenty of fun along the way."

Talbot would go on to say he is "looking forward to a break at home with the family" and pursuing separate interests prior to "taking on the next challenge."

Throughout his tenure with LiveScore, Talbot helped lead the operator's product, design, UX, research, program and MarTech teams. Before joining LiveScore, he previously served as Co-Founder & Partner of The iGaming Collective, Product Director for The Stars Group and as Sky Betting & Gaming's Head of Product.

LiveScore has not addressed Talbot's departure at the time of writing, nor did the executive state whether a process to replace his position has officially begun.

On December 19, LiveScore Malta Limited confirmed it would be withdrawing its LiveScore Bet brand from Bulgaria by the end of 2025, placing sole blame on the UK Government following its decision to raise taxes on online casinos from 21% to 40%.

"The decision is a strategic mitigation following the UK government's 2025 Autumn Budget, which saw significant increases to both Remote Gaming Duty and General Betting Duty," the operator said.

"Furthermore, the exit decision considers the uncertainty in Bulgaria's own regulatory landscape, with a potential tax rise on the horizon to reduce the national budget deficit."

As part of the new UK budget, an online sports betting duty of 25% was also introduced in November 2025.
